The Enneagram Development Difference

Traditional approaches treat all lawyers from the same development playbook. Enneagram-informed development, by contrast, recognizes that a Type 1's "perfectionism" and a Type 6's "anxiety" require completely different coaching interventions. As Enneagram coaches understand that Type 5 lawyers need processing time while Type 7 lawyers need variety, development conversations become exponentially more effective.

This personality intelligence transforms three critical areas:

Stress Management: Each type has predictable stress patterns. Type-specific strategies prevent burnout before it occurs.

Communication: Understanding a lawyer's type reveals both their natural communication strengths and blind spots, enabling targeted skill development to enhance and maximize both internal and client relationships.

Career Pathing: Different types find fulfillment through different paths. The Enneagram reveals what someone needs to thrive in a firm and why without penalizing them for a “style” that doesn’t align with traditional expectations.
